Selling Pixels with Humor
The first Million Dollar Home Page parody site hopes to attract visitors and advertisers with a story that is too funny to ignore. (PRWEB) October 27, 2005 -- With the success of The Million Dollar Home Page has come a flurry of copycat sites hoping to cash in on the pixel ad phenomenon. While it may be hard to sort through them all without losing interest, one such site, The Million Dollar Ho Page, is just too funny to ignore.
The story behind the parody site is that a prostitute is selling pixels so she can stop selling her body and clean up her life. For most streetwalkers, surfing the Internet is a foreign concept, but this one has embraced the web to try and turn her life around.
The site, located at www.milliondollarhopage.com, features a blog for viewers to keep up with the latest news and adventures of the unnamed streetwalker and her son Jermizzle. "There are hundreds of pixel sites now since The Million Dollar Home Page blew up, but none of them are as funny as this one," says Jermizzle. "The best part is the blog which will have you laughing every time you read a new post. For example, while talking about how cheap the pixels are, my mom says the only thing cheaper is her Uncle Willy. He's so cheap he won't even pay attention."
The pixel phenomenon began with Alex Tew and his Million Dollar Homepage, which has brought the 21 year old English University student almost $500,000 in pixel sales since he launched the site in August. There are now over 300 pixel sites created by people eager to cash in on the pixel craze. While The Million Dollar Ho Page might not be for everyone, it is definitely worth a look for nothing more than a quick laugh.
Parental guidance and a sense of humor are suggested.
